FINANCIAL PLANNING | STRATEGY
Sam is one of OEG’s Founding Partners and an experienced finance professional with deep expertise in valuation, financial modelling, and strategic analysis. A CFA charterholder, he plays a key role in managing NN Group’s multibillion-euro balance sheet—driving capital adequacy, investment strategy, and long-term financial planning at one of the Netherlands’ largest listed financial institutions. His previous roles at Shell and EY provided broad exposure to finance, risk, and operational strategy, laying a strong foundation in both analytical rigour and practical execution.
Sam holds a Master’s in International Business (Control and Accounting) and a Bachelor’s in Economics and Business Economics, both from Maastricht University. Recognised for his structured thinking and calm, analytical mindset, Sam excels at helping organisations navigate complexity and make confident, well-substantiated decisions. He is particularly drawn to work that brings clarity and long-term value—whether through strategic planning, valuation, or building a financial narrative that goes beyond the numbers.
Outside of his professional role, Sam is committed to mentoring and community engagement. He has coached ice hockey for several years and remains actively connected to his alma mater. A lifelong sports enthusiast, he is an avid padel player, a passionate ice hockey fan, and deeply interested in the intersection of finance, performance, and data in sports.
